Pastor Search Announcement & Qualifications
Providence Missionary Baptist Church has been in existence for 88 years. Currently, the active membership is approximately 250, and there are nine ministries. The church is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor called by God and equipped to preach and teach the Word of God effectively. The candidate must be able to fulfill the spiritual needs of the congregation through visitations, prayer, conducting weddings and funerals, and administering the ordinances of the church. The candidate must also possess the biblical and spiritual qualities outlined in Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9.
Pastor Qualifications (Preferred- The application process is open to all that want to apply)

Be a licensed and ordained minister in the Baptist faith.

Be a visionary with sound judgment and discernment.

Have a minimum of five years of pastoral experience.

Have at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University and Theological Seminary training.

Possess effective communication skills (written and oral).

Growth-oriented and pastoral care capability.

Demonstrate financial awareness and responsibility.

Committed to continuing education and development.

Demonstrate ability to work effectively with a congregation across all ages and genders.

Possesses effective administration skills and can organize and lead.

Three letters of recommendation [a clergy, a current/former congregation member (from a church where they served as pastor), and a community member]
